Masheruka Girls’ Secondary School is a Government Aided School, both O’ and A’ level Girls’ Boarding, founded by the Church of Uganda. The school started as a mixed school at inception in 1980 and became purely Girls’ School in 1999. The school is fully licensed and registered under Education Management Information System (EMIS). It is found in Sheema North Constituency, Sheema District, 16 Kilometres off Kabwohe municipality, along Kabwohe-Buhweju road. At the moment, Masheruka GSS is the only Girls’ Boarding Secondary School in Sheema North constituency.
Although the school is government aided, much of its demands are met by the parents’ contributions, which are inadequate. The government only supports the school through emoluments of some schools’ staff, thus, the school lags behind as far as getting full support pertaining the provision of the school facilities and capitation grant. It is on this ground that we thought of raising funds from the school stakeholders and well-wishers as an alternative source of revenue for construction of science laboratory.
